Shipping may also be paid on line and you can also track your box’s final destination—samaritanpurse.org. • THE REDEEMER LUTHERAN CHOIR will be singing traditional Christian Christmas carols at the Old Church (that dates back to the 1800’s) at Pioneer Park in Ferndale, for Ferndale’s Old Fashioned Christmas on Nov. 30th, 6-7 pm and on December 14 at Hagen’s in Ferndale from 6-7 pm.  Hagen’s will donate $100.00 in food items to the Food Bank in Ferndale in return for RLC singing.   Come sing along or just enjoy these events.
  • THANKSGIVING INGATHERING FOR THE FERNDALE FOOD BANK:  Along with other churches in the area, once again, the Bank will provide hundreds of bags of dinner fixings plus a turkey for the working poor in the Ferndale area.  We are asked to donate money for at least 8 turkeys at $15.00 a piece, and 50 cans of cranberry sauce. I will be in the Fellowship Hall these next few Sundays to receive your gift (check payable to Ferndale Food Bank, or cash of course).   Those of you wishing to donate a few cans of cranberry sauce may place your gifts in the Food Bank Tub.  The deadline to distribute is no later than the 18th and preferable sooner.  God bless you for sharing, and may your dinner be sweeter. Oh give thanks unto the Lord for he is good, and His mercy endures forever.   Val
  • LADIES:  you and your guest(s) are invited to our 5th annual Women’s Advent By Candlelight evening Sunday, December 2, 6:30-8:00 P.M.  Please note the poster information in the Fellowship Hall for this evening of Bell Choir Music, yummy desserts and fellowship.   You may also sign up to be a table hostess and/or bring dessert. For our Outreach Ingathering  we always choose a ministry that involves babies or children,  so this year we have chosen New Way Ministries Women’s Shelter in Lynden and The Ferndale Food Bank’s  children’s needs.  For New Way Ministries please bring larger size diapers and wipes) and/or for Ferndale Food Bank please bring baby food (no formula).  All women and guests are invited to come.  It is, and has been, a wondrous way to begin our Advent Season of the church year.  Please see the November Saltshaker article or Dee, Barb or Val with questions.
