We are privileged to have Deacon Rex Watt serve as our full-time shepherd here at Redeemer Lutheran Church.  He began this role in February 2019.  He has been a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church since 1998 and over those years has served in a variety of roles: Youth Sunday school teacher, treasurer, elder, adult Bible class teacher and most recently Congregation chairman.  Self-identified as a “recovering Evangelical” he began taking Mission Training Center classes “just to understand how Lutherans think theologically” and one class led to another until all ten were completed.  At the encouragement of our previous pastor, Rev. Daniel Haugen, he applied for and was granted Deacon status by the Northwest District.  Under Pastor Haugen’s mentorship he taught Adult new members classes and occasionally provided pulpit supply.  Deacon Watt is in the process of entering the Specific Ministry Pastor program at Concordia Seminary, St. Louis which will lead to ordination.  He is married to his “most marvelous Bride” Dee, and between them they have 25 grandchildren.  Lord have mercy!
