Our Ministries

Redeemer Lutheran Mission and Outreach

Redeemer congregation annually contributes financially to the support of Lighthouse mission and Love Inc. for the care of the homeless and those in need in North County.  Currently we are in the process of an ongoing ingathering of socks and underwear for recipients of Lighthouse Mission and Agape House.

The Women’s Ministry manages the ongoing ingathering of non-perishable food items for the Ferndale Food Bank, as well as contributing to the annual Thanksgiving dinners each year.  Volunteers of time and money are also supplied to the Food Bank.

Our quilters are busy during the year making quilts for various charities in the community.  If you wish to participate in quilting notify the  church office.

Redeemer congregation participates in LWML Mites for Missions, an arm of the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League, an International organization of the Lutheran church and our ingathering during the year is appreciable.  The mites join others in various mission endeavors around the state and the globe.

For you were called to freedom, brothers. Only do not use your freedom as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another. For the whole law is fulfilled in one word: “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” (Gal. 5:13-14 ESV)

And he sat down and called the twelve. And he said to them, “If anyone would be first, he must be last of all and servant of all.” (Mark 9:35 ESV)

For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me.’ Then the righteous will answer him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you drink? And when did we see you a stranger and welcome you, or naked and clothe you? And when did we see you sick or in prison and visit you?’ And the King will answer them, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers you did it to me.’ (Matthew 25:35-40 ESV)

Quilting

Our quilting group is a small group of women who meet Tuesday mornings from 9:30 am  at church.   We have been caring for our community locally and worldwide for over 30 years.  The quilts are assembled using the tie technique.  Prayer shawls, baby blankets and knitted caps are some other items we give to those in need.  We are always eager to have new members.  No experience is necessary.
